Kahului, Hawaii, lies on the northern coast on the island of Maui on the Kahului Bay and is home to just over 6,000 residents. The small size here gives the town a welcoming and close-knit atmosphere, a place where residents in search of an house or condo to purchase can escape from many of the islands' tourists and relax. Accommodation and food services is the major industry here, where Maui Community College serves those looking for an advanced degree. Maui Memorial Medical Center serves the area, with many employees living here as well.
Kahului is the retail center for Maui residents and there are several malls and major stores, including Maui Mall, Queen Kaahumanu Center and Maui Marketplace. The Kahului Airport offers those searching for an house or condo to buy an easy mode of access into the community. Kahului Park, The Dunes at Maui Lane Golf Course, Hoaloha Park and the Maui Zoological and Botanical Gardens offer recreational opportunities, as do Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanaha Beach County Park, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Maui High School, two elementary schools, one middle school and a handful of private schools provide the education options.
